The Kamuli District LC 5 chairman Charles Maxwell Mugude has passed away this morning in a nasty road accident in Nakifuma along the Kayunga road.
According to reports, Mugude who was a single occupant in a Double Cabin pickup truck was on his way to pick nomination forms from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission offices in kyambogo.

However the cause of the accident that claimed Mugude’s life along the Kayunga- Galiraya road who was seeking reelection to the post in the 2026 national polls is yet to be known.
The Kamuli Resident District Commissioner Rose Birungi confirmed the incident.
