The Wakiso Deputy Resident District Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha has urged the contractor of the new Kajjansi Town Council storied administration block to ensure constructing a befitting office block worth the value of tax payers’ money.
“Construction isn’t just mixing sand and cement then end up with shoddy work, contractors must know if they do shoddy work, they won’t get another contract…….. We want the construction to be done in record time” he said.
Mr Kamugisha who made the remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Kajjansi Town Council offices on Wednesday further thanked the local leaders for putting aside their political differences and uniting to work together for the development of the area.

The Mayor Kajjansi T/C Mr Bashir Kayondo said they have hopes in the site contractor, Stone concrete Ltd to complete the construction works in time to ensure the Town council stops renting office space.
“We are actually the ones who have delayed them with clearance among other things but we are confident with the works they have done in other district offices across the country, they will be able to deliver here” he said.
The Town council engineer Mr Robert Kyakuwadde said the new office three storied office block will cost UGX 4.5 billion to complete.
“The first phase of construction will take eight months and will cost UGX 513 million from the foundation upto level one, we expect the building alone to cost to be UGX 3 billion until completion but due to extra things like the wall fence, latrines, fixing the compound, we expect the total work costs after phase two to be UGX 4.5 billion” he said.
