The Police in Nwoya District have arrested nine people over alleged illegal possession of firearms in the Northern district.

According to the Nwoya District Police commander Reagan Magombe, who confirmed the arrest, the nine suspects were apprehended following an intelligence led operation in Pakwerea village.
Magombe revelaed that an SMG rifle registered under UG 5021-2000with five rounds of live ammunition was recovered, hidden in the roof of a grass-thatched hut.
Magombe noted that nvestigations into the case are still ongoing.
