The Minister in charge of the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, has warned conmen and fraudsters who are soliciting money from members of the public with false promises of securing appointments as Resident District Commissioners, Resident City Commissioners, Deputies, or Assistants.
“All appointments of RDCS, RCCs, Deputies and Assistants are made solely by H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda, in line with Article 203 of the Constitution. There are no agents, middlemen, or brokers involved in the process” she said.
Min Babalanda further noted that there are no fees charged against for one to be appointed an RDC/RCC, Deputies and assistants.
“There is no ongoing recruitment or reshuffle being conducted outside official communication from the Office of the President. Any person claiming to offer RDC jobs for money is fraudulent and malicious” she said.
She added, “These criminal acts are intended to defraud citizens, create confusion, and tarnish the integrity of public service appointments”.
She further urged members of the public to desist from giving money to any individual or group purporting to have influence over RDC appointments.
“All suspected fraudsters should be reported immediately to the nearest Police Station, or directly to the Office of the Minister for the Presidency” she said.
The warning against fraudsters comes days after Min Babalanda, dismissed a list circulating on social media, purportedly announcing a reshuffle of Resident District Commissioners, Resident City Commissioners, their Deputies and Assistants by President Yoweri Museveni.
