The highly anticipated DNA results recently taken from samples of the remains of legendary kadongo Kamu singer Prince Paul Kafeero, have confirmed that only four out of the 25 children have been verified as the deceased’s biological children.
The DNA results released at Naguru Police Headquarters on Thursday have confirmed; Kafeero Bendicto, Kafeero Simon Peter, Kafeero Thomas, and Nagawa Elizabeth as Kafeero’s only children.
At the beginning of this month, the Minister for Local Government Hon. Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi ordered for the exhumation of Kafeero’s remains to carry out the DNA tests, in order to bring to an end a prolonged dispute, which had remained unresolved for over 20 years.

The exercise was overseen by Minister Balaam, alongside officials from the Police Forensic Directorate and the Government Analytical Laboratory, including Director Andrew Mubiru and Kepher Kuchana Kateu.
The late kafeero, died from kidney failure and severe fever, with complications exacerbated by acute malaria and long-term alcohol-related health issues.
He passed away at Mulago Hospital on May 17, 2007, at the age of 36.
