President Yoweri Museveni has this evening unveiled a new Cabinet for the 2026–2031 ” No Sleep Term, in which he has named a few suprising new faces and retained several old ministers.
In the new Cabinet President Museveni has appointed Masaka City Woman MP Justine Nameere, who recently got picked up by security for a few hours as Minister of State for Local Government.
Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, who has been serving as Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations to Minister of Foreign Affairs, replacing Gen. Jeje Odongo.
While Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde makes a comeback to Cabinet as Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
The changes have seen the former Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa, and former State Minister of Privatization both dropped to the position of Senior Presidential Advisor.
However Museveni has retained Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo as Vice President, and Robinah Nabbanja as Prime Minister at the top of government.
