Security operatives led by the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have sealed off former Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anitah Among’s homes in Kigo and Ntinda suburbs.
The sunday raids follow a heavily guarded security operation at her Nakasero home on Saturday as the probe into her alleged corruption widens.
The ongoing operations are reportedly part of a President Museveni-sanctioned probe into the politician over corruption and other alleged offenses, which authorities have yet to disclose publicly.
The search at Kigo has led to the discovery of several luxury cars, including the controversial UGX 3.2 billion Rolls-Royce Cullinan 2025.
According to reliable sources, investigators reportedly seized a mobile phone belonging to Among during Saturday’s raid at her Nakasero residence.
The source, further intimated that forensic experts are expected to examine the device for communications, financial records, electronic transactions and other information that could aid investigators.
The investigators have also placed her under house arrest, with movement in and out of the property beoming highly restricted, with personnel linked to the Special Forces Command maintaining close surveillance around the residence following overnight searches conducted by CID and other security agencies.
On Saturday, a joint security team led by the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), with support from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces and other state security agencies, has raided former Speaker Anita Annet Among home in Nakasero as the probe into alleged corruption by the former Speaker of Parliament expands.
According to sources, the operation which began Saturday afternoon scrutinised documents and property linked to the former Speaker.
On Friday, the Inspector General of Government (IGG), Lady Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala, confirmed that the inspectorate is carrying out investigations on Speaker Anita Annette Among’s wealth, following recent public complaints about her lifestyle.
