President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi, the new Deputy Chief Justice in bid to strengthen the administration of justice and service delivery within the judiciary.
In a statement released by the PPU on Thursday, President Museveni also appointed Her Worship, Agnes Alum as the new Chief Registrar.
The appointment of the Deputy Chief Justice has been submitted to Parliament of Uganda for approval in line with the constitutional process.

Justice Kazibwe is set to replace Justice Richard Buteera, who has served as Deputy Chief Justice since 2020 and is nearing retirement.
Once approved, Kazibwe will oversee the Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court.
Senior Press Secretary to President Museveni, Sandor Walusimbi, noted that the appointments followed advice of the Judicial Service Commission.
