Rubaare, Uganda – The tranquil village of Kamyenda Rukiri 1, nestled in Rubaare Town Council, is reeling in shock and fear after a yet to be identified old man was found hanging dead from a tree, in a suspected suicide on Thursday morning.
The community claims the man is not from around the area, sparking a wave of anxiety amid rising cases of killings in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was found with a rope around his neck, leaving residents shaken and wondering what could’ve led to such a desperate act.
Some residents suggested the deceased might have been brutalised by unknown individuals, citing signs at the scene.
However, Chairman Mr. Karuhanga took a more measured approach, urging police to increase support in fighting crime and addressing the underlying issues that may have led to this incident.
”Our community is hurting, and we need answers,” Karuhanga said in a heartfelt plea. “We can’t just take the law into our own hands. We need the police to investigate and find out what’s going on.”
As police are yet to arrive at the scene, and investigations will follow, the incident has laid bare the growing concerns about security in Rubaare Town Council.
The community is on edge, and residents are demanding action to restore peace and safety .
