Police Arrests Woman Over Killing Her Three Year Old Daughter

The Police at Natete has in custody a 24-year-old woman over allegedly stabbing her three year old daughter to death.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Kawala Rachael, three-year-old Neila Ayongeirwe was stabbed by her mother on Tuesday morning when the deceased’s father Dickson Bakwatanisa, was away from the home located in in Lusaze Zone, Rubaga Division, Kampala District.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that after allegedly stabbing her daughter, the woman attempted to take her own life by cutting her neck” she said.
Kawala noted that the suspect is currently receiving treatment in hospital under police guard.
Authorities have since linked the incident to unresolved domestic violence issues between the parents.
“We strongly condemn such acts of violence within domestic settings. Members of the public, especially victims of domestic violence, are urged to seek assistance from the police Child and Family Protection Unit for support and protection” Kawala said.
