A Prisons warder attached to Kiboga Prison has shot dead two supervisors and the Officer in Charge (OC) of the Prisons wife.
According to the Commissioner for Cooperation and Corporate Affairs and Service Spokesperson of the Uganda Prisons Service, Frank Baine Mayanja, warder identified as No. 13544 Warder Anguyo Moses opened fire on his supervisors, fatally shooting them at 10am on Monday morning.
“The deceased have been identified as Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Hope Catherine (Deputy Officer in Charge), Principal Officer I Akishuri Bright (Third in Command), and Sarah Ayebare, spouse of the Officer in Charge” Baine said in statement.
Baine noted that although the firearm used in the shooting has been recovered, the suspect remains at large and is considered dangerous.
Baine said that the Police was immediately called to the scene and secured the area with joint security operations currently underway to pursue the suspect.
“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to inform the Police” he said.
