The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has denied allegations that Uganda People’s Defence Soldiers (UPDF) beat up Barbie Kyagulanyi, wife to National Unity Platform (NUP) Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine during a security raid on their Magere home on Friday night.

In a brief post on his X account on Monday, the First son noted that UPDF soldiers don’t beat up women since they are not worth the forces time.

“My soldiers did not beat up Barbie…Kabobi’s wife. First of all, we do not beat up women. They are not worth our time” he said.

Gen Muhoozi further noted that the security apparatus was more interested in locating her husband Bobi Wine, who remains in hiding.

“We are looking for her cowardly husband not her” Gen Muhoozi posted.

On Friday night, social media was awash with videos of heavily armed soldiers raiding Bobi Wines home with ladders recorded and shared by Barbie who was in the home together with other family members at the time.

This prompted Bobi Wine and members of NUP to raise an alarm of the security raid on their Presidents home during the middle of the night on social media.

On Saturday, while addressing media from her hospital bed at St Francis Hospital Nsambya where she was rushed for treatment after the previous nights ordeal, Barbie narrated how the UPDF soldiers strangled and stripped her of her blouse during the raid.

“The one who was behind me pulled my shirt, so, now I was between two men, one was strangling me and one was pulling my shirt. The button was choking me here (throat), I kicked the man who was in front of me in some place very hard, and he walked away. Then this one pulled me and all the buttons broke and he stayed with the shirt in his hands, so, I walked across the room naked” Barbie Narrated.

Barbie noted that the group of heavily armed, drunk soldiers who had a similar appearance and all spoke one language broke into the homes lower gate to access the premises.
