The Uganda Police has launched a manhunt for embattled land broker Muhammad Kamoga of the defunct Kamoga Property Consultants over charges of forgery, uttering false documents and obtaining registration by false pretense.

In a statement released on Friday, the Police noted that Kamoga is wanted before the Entebbe Chief Magistrates court to answer 14 counts against him before the court.

“The suspect is facing 14 counts before the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Entebbe under Criminal Case No. ENT-00-CR-CO-0836-2023, which include nine counts of forgery, three counts of uttering false documents, and two counts of obtaining registration by false pretence, all contrary to the Penal Code Act, Cap 128,” police said in the statement.

It is alleged that between February and May 2021, while at the Wakiso Lands Office in Busiro, the suspect forged transfer forms and a practicing certificate for advocates, which he later used to fraudulently obtain registration of land in Busiro Block 435, among other plots.

According to police, the manhunt was initiatred after the Entebbe senior grade one magistrate, Edgar Tibayeita Tusiime on October, 6 directing Kamoga’s arrest on sight so he can stand before court to answer the charges.

“The Police are therefore appealing to the suspect, Mr. Kamoga Muhamad, to report to the nearest police station or appear before the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Entebbe immediately to avoid further inconvenience the statement further reads”

On Monday, the Entebbe Senior Grade One Magistrate Tibayeita Edgar Tusiime issued an arrest warrant of embattled land broker Muhamad Kamoga in order to face justice.

“To Any Police Officer, Whereas Kamoga Muhamad of Bugabo – Garuga, Katabi Town Council stands charged with the offences of forgery c/s 319 & 324 (9 counts), uttering a false document c/s 328 (3 counts) and obtaining registration by false pretence c/s 292 (2 counts) of The Penal Code Act Cap 128”

“You are hereby directed to arrest the said Kamoga Muhamad and to produce him before me as soon as possible. Herein fail not. Given under my hand and the seal of the Court this 06 October 2025” His worship Tusiime ordered.

Kamoga’s legal troubles stem from allegations that he used forged transfer forms to unlawfully transfer land ownership from Peter Bibangamba into his names for over 200 acres of land.

Kamoga’s attempt to further delay the trial as he has always done where twarted by the State, when it moved ahead of him by certification of his medical records.

When Kamogo’s lawyers presented a suspicious medical report from Nakasero Hospital to court indicating that he required four weeks of rest, the state attorney Paul Aheebwa Byamukama countered it by producing a certified copy, which proved that Kamoga was fit to stand trial.

The complainants expressed optimism that Kamoga shall be arrested any time and thereafter tried as directed by the Supreme Court.
