Mr Luggya noted that the previous highest monthly traffic was recorded in December 2024, with 222,301 passengers, an average of 7,171 arrivals and departures per day.
“The surge in July 2025 traffic was partly driven by the arrival of delegations for Chan 2024, increased tourism promotion, hosting of international conferences and enhanced airline connectivity among others”.
Vianney noted that exports continue to be higher than imports giving a good boost to the country’s economy.
“In terms of cargo, the airport handled a total of 5,863 metric tons, including 3,961 tons of exports and 1,902 tons of imports” he said.
