The Uganda Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke has revealed that the force has arrested 12 people over allegedly selling fake tickets for Monday’s Total CHAN 2024 match between the Uganda Cranes and South Africa at Namboole National Stadium.
“There are people who have tried to sell fake tickets or duplicates, and some have not survived it. We nabbed 12, and they are facing music with us now. We do not want you to fall victim by thinking that you can buy any ticket other than online” he noted.
Kituuma who made the remarks while addressing the weekly security media presser at Naguru warned fans against travelling to the stadium without having purchased their tickets online, since they wouldn’t be allowed into the stadium.
“If you go into the portals and you find the tickets are over, go and get to the nearest screen and watch this match. But do not be convinced that by any magic or trick you will enter Namboole without an online ticket. It will be an embarrassment on your side because we shall not allow you in there, and if you try to use those tricks, then we shall keep you in safe custody” Kituuma warned.
Kituuma further urged fans to follow the recent communication from the local organizing committee on the tickets being sold out and avoid being duped by conmen outside the stadium.
