The Kasangati Police Division has arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged murder of two-year-old Kyomuhando Dartiva Rosaries, after her mother failed to raise a UGX 10 million ransom request by her abductors.
The Kampala Metroploitan Police Deputy PRO, Luke Owoyesigyire, has revealed that Kyomuhando’s, disappearance was reported by her mother, Atukwatse Lillian, on Tuesday.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the child went missing while playing with neighbouring children. On the morning of 28 October 2026, a ransom note demanding UGX 10 million was discovered at her mother’s gate” he said.

Owoyesigyire noted that the police subsequently arrested two suspects in connection with the incident, including Muhumuza Joshua, a pedicurist, who reportedly confessed to the crime and led investigators to a maize plantation in Kyetume, Gayaza, where the child’s body was recovered.
“He also reportedly identified his alleged accomplice, Amusuguti Florence, who has since been arrested” said.
Owoyesigyire said a mobile phone was recovered from Muhumuza during a search, which contained a mobile line allegedly used to demand the ransom.
“Preliminary findings further indicate that Muhumuza was known to both the child and her mother. He had previously worked for the mother as a pedicurist, and his residence was separated from the family’s home by a perimeter wall” he said.
Owoyesigyire further revealed that the child’s body was conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available”Owoyesigyire said.
