The father of former Busiro South MP Charles Matovu, Mr Vincent Bukenya, has revealed that doctors at Rubaga Hospital who initially treated his son, revealed to him that he was poisoned.
“Even satan kills, it’s satan that has killed Matovu, because when he was being treated the first time at Rubaga Hospital, the doctors informed us that he had been poisoned” he said.

He added, “And yet in the past, they had brutally beaten him, when he was returning from the campaign”.
Mr Bukenya made the remarks during Matovu’s requiem Mass, St. Bruno Sserunkuuma Catholic Church, Kasenge on Saturday.

Matovu passed away on Thursday night after a sudden illness.
During the mass, former Minister for youth and sports in Buganda Kingdom, Mr Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu decried the increasing brutal acts across the country, and called on those in power to reflect deeply on their actions.
“All the things that we hear are disheartening, they even make you shed tears, what we see and what we hear. I want to ask of you leaders both here and out there, regardless of your political affiliation or ideologies, to first raise this country to where it needs to be” he said.
The leader of opposition in Parliament and National Unity Platform (NUP) speaker, Joel Ssenyonyi expressed dismay at the continued security brutality towards civilians across the country.

“There are things that we should stand up against and say they must come to an end in this country. This country belongs to all of us, whether you like it on or not. Those who think they are more Ugandans than the rest of us, i don’t know where they get that notion from” he said.
The late Matovu will then be laid to rest today at Kungu-Lutale at 2 pm.
