The Anti-corruption court in Kampala has charged and remanded Kayiwa Amir on charges of offering gratification.
Prosecution alleged that on August 29, 2026, at Lubowa in Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District, Kayiwa offered UGX 8 million to police officers guarding a crime scene.
The alleged bribe was intended to allow him access to the office of Asimwe Emmanuel at Details Security Company Ltd, where he reportedly planned to remove vital evidence.
This had followed an earlier complaint filed to the unit concerning the alleged theft of 785 kilograms of gold from Details Security Company Ltd premises, which prompted the unit and police to secure and cordon off the scene as investigations commenced.
Kayiwa’s arraignment before the court followed joint efforts by the anti-corruption unit, Criminal investigations department and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Kayiwa has been remanded until September 30th, 2026, when the case will come up again for mention before the court.
