The Police in Kagadi has in custody two sons in connection with the suspected murder of their mother, Kabagenzi Angela, 95, a resident of Matuntu A Village, Kagadi District.
According to police, Kabagenzi went missing from her home on the night of September 4th and her body was discovered the following morning of September 5th, approximately 300 metres from her home, in a sugarcane plantation, with the head missing.
The Police was notified and promptly responded to the scene of crime with a sniffer dog and upon arrival, investigators established the possible exit route through the thick sugarcane plantation.
Police noted that sniffer dog No. T/P 240 Marshal was introduced to the scene and successfully picked up a scent.
“The dog tracked the trail to the home of Biija Peter and subsequently proceeded to the home of Isingoma, another son of the deceased, leading to their arrest o assist with investigations.
During the operation, Isingoma led the Police and community members to a location where the head of the deceased had allegedly been buried, where it was recovered.
The suspects remain in custody as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder continue.
